NIP046

NIP046 is a selective Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by China Pharmaceutical Research and Development Center Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinopharm. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, with a primary focus on moderate-to-severe active rheumatoid arthritis. By selectively targeting the JAK1 isoform, NIP046 modulates the signaling pathways of several pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interferons, which are critical to the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. This selectivity is intended to provide therapeutic efficacy while potentially minimizing adverse effects associated with the inhibition of other JAK family members, such as JAK2, which is involved in erythropoiesis and myelopoiesis. NIP046 is administered orally and has progressed into Phase 2 clinical trials in China.
