Overview
NK-001 is an allogeneic natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by Emercell SAS. It consists of highly purified NK cells derived from umbilical cord blood that are expanded and activated ex vivo using a proprietary process. This process is designed to produce a highly potent, "off-the-shelf" cellular product that does not require HLA matching. NK-001 is primarily being developed for the treatment of hematological malignancies, specifically relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The therapeutic effect is achieved through the direct cytotoxic activity of the NK cells against tumor cells, which involves the release of perforins and granzymes, and is further enhanced when used in combination with monoclonal antibodies to trigger antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC).
