Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OGD201 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by OGD2 Pharma that specifically targets O-acetylated-GD2 (OAcGD2), a tumor-associated ganglioside antigen. OAcGD2 is highly expressed in various cancers, including neuroblastoma, glioblastoma, melanoma, sarcoma, and breast cancer, as well as on cancer stem cells. Unlike the closely related GD2 antigen, OAcGD2 is not expressed on normal nerve or brain cells, which allows OGD201 to selectively target tumor cells while potentially avoiding the severe neuropathic pain and neurotoxicity associated with traditional anti-GD2 therapies. The antibody was developed through the humanization of the chimeric monoclonal antibody 8B6 using CDR-grafting. OGD201 has received Orphan Drug Designation from the EMA for the treatment of neuroblastoma.
