Overview

PACAB-002 is a proprietary nanoformulation of cabazitaxel encapsulated in poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate) (PACA) polymeric nanoparticles, developed by NaDeNo Nanoscience. It is specifically designed for the treatment of peritoneal micrometastases in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. The active ingredient, cabazitaxel, is a taxane chemotherapy agent that binds to and stabilizes microtubules, disrupting cell division and leading to cell death. Administered intraperitoneally, PACAB-002 is engineered to reach and attach to micrometastases within the peritoneal cavity, providing high local drug concentrations while reducing systemic exposure and associated side effects. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling preclinical stage, approaching clinical trials.
