This is a preclinical-stage covalent small molecule inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) being developed by Satya Pharma Innovations. The compound functions by covalently binding to PARG, an enzyme responsible for the degradation of poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) polymers. Inhibition of PARG leads to the toxic accumulation of PAR chains, which disrupts the DNA damage repair (DDR) cycle and ultimately triggers apoptosis in cancer cells. This differentiated approach aims to provide sustained pharmacodynamic effects compared to reversible inhibitors. The program is currently focused on the treatment of breast and ovarian cancers.
