Overview

PhytoSERM is a scientifically-designed plant-based formulation comprised of three phytoestrogens: genistein, daidzein, and S-equol, in equal parts. This combination acts as a **selective estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) modulator**, exhibiting approximately 83-fold selectivity for ERβ over ERα. PhytoSERM aims to harness estrogenic mechanisms in the brain to address menopausal symptoms—particularly vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes) and cognitive function—without exerting significant estrogenic activity in reproductive tissues. The formulation is rationally engineered to provide synergistic activation of ERβ, reduce antagonistic phytoestrogen interactions typical in soy-derived isoflavone mixtures, and minimize adverse effects associated with ERα activation. It has undergone phase 1b/2a and phase 2 clinical trials for safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy, and is being developed as a safer alternative to hormone therapy for peri- and postmenopausal women, with additional potential for reducing Alzheimer's disease risk and preserving brain health[1][5][2][3][6][7].
