Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of placebo and upadacitinib. Upadacitinib is an oral small molecule Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, primarily targeting Janus kinase 1 (JAK1). It works by blocking the action of JAK enzymes, which are involved in signaling pathways that lead to inflammation. Upadacitinib is used for the treatment of several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, atopic dermatitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Placebo has no active pharmacological effect and serves as a control in clinical trials[2][3][5].
