Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PLS-1 is a small molecule agonist of the Adenosine receptor A1 (A1R) being developed by Primetime Life Sciences for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Adenosine signaling is known to play a critical role in the regulation of sleep and mood, and A1R agonists have shown potential in modulating these pathways to exert antidepressant effects. By targeting the A1 receptor, PLS-1 aims to provide a novel therapeutic approach distinct from traditional monoamine-based antidepressants. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
