Prim-o-glucosylcimifugin is a bioactive chromone glycoside and a major constituent of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Saposhnikovia divaricata* (Radix Saposhnikoviae), as well as being found in other plants such as *Angelica japonica*. It is classified chemically as an organic heterotricyclic compound and oxacycle. Prim-o-glucosylcimifugin exhibits notable anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Mechanistically, it inhibits the proliferation of smooth muscle cells stimulated by TNF-alpha and exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX‑2) expression through suppression of JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathways. It also reduces nitric oxide production in activated macrophages. The compound is widely used in research for its potential therapeutic applications in inflammation-related conditions, antioxidant support, natural product validation, food preservation due to its antioxidative capacity, cosmetic formulations for skin health benefits, and various biotechnological applications[1][2][3][4][6][7].
