Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ProDex, also known as TLC399, is an investigational long-acting drug delivery system designed to deliver dexamethasone sodium phosphate (DSP) for the treatment of macular edema, particularly that caused by retinal vein occlusion (RVO). It utilizes proprietary BioSeizer® technology to encapsulate DSP within multi-layered lipid membranes, providing an extended-release profile and maintaining therapeutic levels in the eye for at least six months following a single administration. This innovative approach aims to reduce the frequency of injections, thereby improving patient compliance and quality of life. Clinical trials have demonstrated that TLC399 is well-tolerated, with no dose-limiting toxicities observed.
