PS101

PS101 is an experimental drug formulation developed by EXACT Therapeutics designed for use in Acoustic Cluster Therapy (ACT). It consists of a proprietary mixture of negatively charged microbubbles and positively charged microdroplets that are co-administered intravenously with chemotherapeutic agents. Upon application of targeted ultrasound at the tumor site, these microbubble-microdroplet clusters form larger bubbles that transiently block capillaries and oscillate under low-frequency ultrasound. This process enhances the delivery and uptake of chemotherapy drugs specifically to tumors, potentially increasing treatment efficacy without raising systemic toxicity. The primary indication under investigation is liver metastases from solid tumors such as colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer. Clinical trials have demonstrated safety and a dose-dependent increase in tumor shrinkage when combined with standard chemotherapy regimens like FOLFOX or FOLFIRI.
