Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The lyophilized rabies vaccine for human use (Vero cells) is an inactivated vaccine developed by Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products. It is produced by inoculating a fixed strain of the rabies virus into Vero cells, followed by cultivation, harvesting, concentration, inactivation, purification, and freeze-drying. The vaccine is designed to elicit virus-neutralizing antibodies to prevent rabies infection and is suitable for both post-exposure prophylaxis and pre-exposure prevention. It is currently part of Zhifei's pipeline alongside an MRC-5 cell-based variant.
