Overview
RCOMP is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, especially in frail and elderly patients. It consists of rituximab (a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B cells), cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent), vincristine (a microtubule inhibitor), prednisone (a corticosteroid), and non-pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (Myocet). The substitution of conventional doxorubicin with non-pegylated liposomal doxorubicin aims to reduce cardiotoxicity while maintaining efficacy. This regimen is designed to be less toxic than standard regimens like R-CHOP, making it suitable for patients who may not tolerate standard anthracycline-based therapy[1].
