Overview

Remab is a rituximab biosimilar developed and marketed by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals (SK+F) in Bangladesh. It is a genetically engineered chimeric murine/human monoclonal IgG1 kappa antibody directed against the CD20 antigen, which is primarily found on the surface of B-lymphocytes. The binding of Remab to CD20 initiates B-cell lysis through several mechanisms, including complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). Remab is approved for the treatment of various B-cell mediated conditions, such as Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL), Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA), Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA), and Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV). It is administered as an intravenous injection and is available in 100 mg/10 mL and 500 mg/50 mL formulations.
