RGD4C-p21Ras-scFv is a recombinant fusion protein designed to target the intracellular p21Ras protein in ras-driven cancers. It consists of a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody that binds to both mutant and wild-type p21Ras, linked to an RGD4C membrane-penetrating peptide. While traditional scFv antibodies are typically unable to cross the cell membrane, the RGD4C peptide facilitates the internalization of the scFv into the cytoplasm of tumor cells. Once inside, the agent binds to p21Ras, inhibiting its signaling activity, which leads to the suppression of tumor cell migration and proliferation, and the induction of apoptosis. Research has specifically highlighted its efficacy against the human colorectal cancer cell line SW480, and pilot-scale production processes have been established to support further development.
