Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rituxikal is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed and manufactured by PT Kalbio Global Medika, a subsidiary of PT Kalbe Farma in Indonesia. It contains the active ingredient rituximab, which targets the CD20 antigen on the surface of B-cell lymphocytes. By binding to CD20, it mediates B-cell lysis through mechanisms such as complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). Rituxikal is indicated for the treatment of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). It was the first monoclonal antibody product produced domestically in Indonesia, receiving marketing authorization from BPOM in December 2022 following technology transfer from mAbxience and Sinergium Biotech.
