Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas, especially diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The regimen consists of rituximab, a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B cells; ACVBP, an intensive multi-agent chemotherapy protocol (doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, vindesine or vincristine, bleomycin, and prednisone); and pegfilgrastim, a long-acting recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates neutrophil production to reduce infection risk during chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. Rituximab works by inducing cell death in CD20-positive B cells through immune-mediated mechanisms. Pegfilgrastim reduces the incidence of febrile neutropenia by promoting proliferation and maturation of neutrophils. This combination has been shown to improve response rates and survival outcomes compared to regimens without rituximab or with less intensive chemotherapy[1][2][3][6][7].
