Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rituximab + bendamustine is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of indolent CD20-positive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma. Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the CD20 antigen on B lymphocytes, leading to their destruction through immune-mediated mechanisms. Bendamustine is an alkylating agent that causes DNA cross-linking and damage, resulting in cancer cell death. The combination has demonstrated efficacy as both first-line and relapsed/refractory therapy, with improved progression-free survival compared to some older regimens and generally favorable tolerability[3][5][6][8].
