Overview

This is a combination regimen consisting of six agents: - **Rituximab** (a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B cells, leading to B cell depletion) - **Cyclophosphamide** (an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA, inhibiting cell division) - **Doxorubicin** (an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II) - **Vincristine** (a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation in mitosis) - **Prednisone** (a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects) - **Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF)** (a cytokine that stimulates the production of white blood cells) This combination is not a standard named protocol but represents an intensified version of the R-CHOP regimen, with the addition of GM-CSF for hematopoietic support. R-CHOP itself is widely used as first-line therapy for aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas such as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The addition of GM-CSF aims to reduce chemotherapy-induced neutropenia by stimulating bone marrow recovery[3][7]. Each component has a distinct mechanism contributing to cytotoxicity against malignant lymphocytes or supporting patient tolerance during treatment.
