Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Rituximab + hyaluronidase human** is a fixed-dose subcutaneous combination of rituximab, a CD20-directed cytolytic chimeric monoclonal antibody, and recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20. Rituximab depletes CD20-positive B cells through immune-mediated cytotoxic mechanisms, while hyaluronidase transiently degrades subcutaneous hyaluronan to promote tissue dispersion and absorption of rituximab. Marketed as Rituxan Hycela in the United States and MabThera SC in certain ex-US markets, it provides a faster subcutaneous alternative to intravenous rituximab after at least one full intravenous rituximab dose. It is approved for adult follicular lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
