Overview

Rituximab + ifosfamide + carboplatin + etoposide (commonly known as R-ICE) is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma and certain other lymphomas. Rituximab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the CD20 protein on B cells, marking them for destruction by the immune system. Ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide are cytotoxic chemotherapy agents that work by damaging DNA in rapidly dividing cells, leading to cell death. This combination leverages both targeted immunotherapy (rituximab) and broad-spectrum cytotoxic effects (ifosfamide, carboplatin, etoposide) to maximize anti-tumor activity[1][2][3][4].
