Overview

RNA-OG-OVA is an experimental cancer vaccine construct that utilizes a self-assembling RNA origami (RNA-OG) nanostructure as a delivery platform for the model antigen ovalbumin (OVA). Developed by researchers at Arizona State University, the RNA-OG scaffold serves a dual purpose: it acts as a structural carrier for antigens to enhance lymph node delivery and cellular uptake by dendritic cells, and it functions as an intrinsic Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist, providing potent adjuvant activity. In preclinical studies using the B16-OVA murine melanoma model, the vaccine demonstrated enhanced antigen cross-presentation and the induction of robust CD8+ T-cell mediated anti-tumor immune responses, leading to improved survival and long-term tumor immunity.
