SBI-087 + methotrexate

SBI-087 + methotrexate is a combination therapy consisting of SBI-087, a humanized Small Modular Immunopharmaceutical Protein (SMIP) drug that targets the CD20 antigen on B cells, and methotrexate, a conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD)[1][3][5]. SBI-087 induces B cell depletion by binding to CD20 and is structurally related to other anti-CD20 biologics like rituximab, with a distinct immunogenicity and pharmacological profile. The combination with methotrexate, a folate antagonist, is used in clinical studies for the management of active, seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (RA); it is designed to leverage synergistic effects in controlling disease activity. SBI-087 was advanced at least to phase II clinical evaluation, but further development appears to have been discontinued[1][3][5].
