SCO-240

SCO-240 is an orally bioavailable small molecule drug developed by SCOHIA PHARMA that acts as a selective antagonist of the somatostatin receptor type 5 (SSTR5). Currently in Phase 1 clinical development, the drug is primarily being investigated for growth hormone deficiency (GHD), including pediatric growth hormone deficiency (PGHD). By antagonizing SSTR5, SCO-240 stimulates the secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. Clinical studies have demonstrated its ability to robustly increase GH levels in healthy individuals while maintaining a favorable safety and tolerability profile. Its pharmacokinetic properties support once-daily oral dosing. In addition to growth hormone disorders, SCO-240 is also being explored for potential applications in female infertility and alopecia.
