Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SGR-6016 is a structurally distinct, small-molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 (NLR family pyrin domain containing 3) inflammasome, developed by Schrödinger. The NLRP3 inflammasome is a multi-protein complex that triggers the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β and IL-18, in response to cellular stress or infection. Dysregulation of this pathway is implicated in a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. SGR-6016 was identified through Schrödinger's computational platform and has demonstrated favorable potency, selectivity, and safety in preclinical models. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of inflammatory and cardiometabolic conditions.
