Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SH-08 is a potent and highly selective small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1), developed by Nanjing Sanhome Pharmaceutical for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. By selectively blocking JAK1, the drug inhibits the signaling of various pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-6, IFN-gamma, and IL-15) through the JAK-STAT pathway, while potentially avoiding the side effects associated with the inhibition of other JAK isoforms like JAK2 (erythropoiesis) and JAK3 (immune cell development). SH-08 is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for rheumatoid arthritis and is also under investigation for other indications, including atopic dermatitis.
