Overview

SIM0532 is an investigational small molecule inhibitor developed by Simcere Pharmaceutical (Jiangsu Xiansheng) that targets the poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) family. Specifically identified in company pipeline documents as a "Pan/PAR8" inhibitor, it is designed for the treatment of various cancers. The drug works by inhibiting PARP enzymes, which are critical for repairing single-strand DNA breaks. In cancer cells, particularly those with existing DNA repair defects such as BRCA mutations, this inhibition leads to the accumulation of double-strand breaks, genomic instability, and ultimately cell death through a process known as synthetic lethality. SIM0532 is currently in the early stages of development within Simcere's oncology portfolio.
