Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Sulphur + aloe vera** is an investigational topical fixed-dose soap formulation containing 8% sulphur and *Aloe vera*, studied as an adjunct to ketoconazole 2% shampoo for pityriasis versicolor. Sulphur acts locally as a nonspecific keratolytic, promoting desquamation of the superficial stratum corneum and potentially improving removal of fungus-containing keratin and penetration of topical antifungal treatment. The *Aloe vera* component provides acetylated mannan-associated humectant and soothing effects intended to improve skin hydration and tolerability. In the registered study, the soap is applied to the body surface, left for five minutes, and then rinsed off. ([clinicaltrials.gov](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT06170333))
