Sunflower oleodistillate + desonide is a combination of two active ingredients used in dermatology. Sunflower oleodistillate (SOD) is obtained through molecular distillation of sunflower oil without solvents, resulting in a concentrate with a 10-fold higher unsaponifiable fraction than natural sunflower oil. SOD has been shown to increase epidermal key lipid synthesis, reduce inflammation, and activate peroxisome proliferative-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha) in vitro. Desonide is a low-potency topical corticosteroid that works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.
