Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TL011 is an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate developed by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries. It was designed as a biosimilar of rituximab (MabThera/Rituxan), a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets the CD20 antigen expressed on B cells, leading to B-cell depletion. TL011 was evaluated in clinical trials, including a Phase Ib study assessing its safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics compared to MabThera in patients with severe active rheumatoid arthritis who were also receiving methotrexate, as well as a Phase Ib study in patients with CD20-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). However, Teva suspended and ultimately terminated the development of TL011 in 2012 due to regulatory and strategic considerations.
