Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TRAUMA-SALBE Mayrhofer is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical ointment developed and marketed by Kwizda Pharma for the treatment of minor injuries, musculoskeletal pain, and trauma-related conditions. The product is available in two distinct formulations tailored to the stage of injury. The 'cooling' formulation is designed for acute injuries (first 48 hours), containing methyl salicylate, menthol, and camphor to provide pain relief through cold-induced vasoconstriction and anti-inflammatory action. The 'warming' formulation is intended for chronic conditions or later-stage recovery, containing methyl salicylate, purified turpentine oil, and cayenne pepper extract (standardized to capsaicinoids) to act as a rubefacient, promoting local blood circulation and relieving muscle tension. Both formulations provide local analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects for conditions such as sprains, strains, and contusions.
