Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VC-005 is a selective Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by Jiangsu Vcare Pharmatech for the treatment of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. It is a small molecule drug classified as an anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic agent. The primary mechanism of action involves inhibition of JAK1, a tyrosine-protein kinase involved in cytokine signaling pathways that mediate inflammation. As of early 2025, VC-005 has reached Phase III clinical trials for atopic dermatitis and Phase II for ankylosing spondylitis; it has also been studied in Phase I trials for rheumatoid arthritis. No active development is currently reported for inflammatory bowel disease. The drug is administered orally in tablet form.
