Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VC005 + probenecid is an investigational drug combination evaluated in a Phase I drug-drug interaction (DDI) study in healthy adult subjects. VC005 is a novel, potent, and highly selective second-generation small molecule Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by Jiangsu Vcare PharmaTech Co., Ltd. (with exclusive commercialization rights in mainland China held by Huadong Medicine). It is being developed for multiple autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including atopic dermatitis, ankylosing spondylitis, vitiligo, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Probenecid is a well-known inhibitor of organic anion transporters (OAT) and is used as a probe drug in this DDI study to evaluate the pharmacokinetic interactions and the role of OAT transporters in the clearance of VC005.
