Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VivoVec CD20 is an innovative in vivo chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Umoja Biopharma. Utilizing the proprietary VivoVec lentiviral vector platform, the therapy is designed to generate anti-CD20 CAR-T cells directly within the patient's body, bypassing the traditional requirements for ex vivo manufacturing and lymphodepleting chemotherapy. The therapy consists of surface-engineered lentiviral particles that are administered systemically to target and transduce T cells in situ. Once transduced, these T cells express a CAR specific for CD20, a protein found on the surface of B cells, leading to the targeted destruction of malignant or pathogenic B cells. VivoVec CD20 is being developed for the treatment of B-cell malignancies (as UB-VV100) and autoimmune diseases (as UB-VV111), offering a potentially more accessible and scalable alternative to conventional CAR-T cell therapies.
