Formulated as an ophthalmic solution (eye drops), it is designed to treat various ocular inflammatory conditions, including **non-infectious anterior uveitis** and **post-operative ocular inflammation** following cataract surgery. The drug works by inhibiting the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is a key driver of inflammatory cytokine production in ocular tissues. VVN461 is positioned as a potentially safer alternative to topical corticosteroids, aiming to provide potent anti-inflammatory effects without the common steroid-related side effects such as elevated intraocular pressure and accelerated cataract formation.
