Overview

WXSH0176 is an orally administered small molecule Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor developed by Chenxin Pharmaceutical. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. By selectively inhibiting the JAK1 isoform, the drug blocks the signal transduction of various pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukins and interferons, which play a critical role in the inflammatory response of the colonic mucosa. This selectivity is intended to provide a better safety profile compared to non-selective JAK inhibitors by minimizing effects on erythropoiesis and immune cell populations regulated by JAK2 and JAK3. WXSH0176 is currently in early-stage clinical development in China.
