Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xianglian Huazhuo Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), a condition involving chronic inflammation and mucosal thinning that serves as a precursor to gastric cancer. The granules are intended to "resolve turbidity" (Huazhuo) and alleviate clinical symptoms such as epigastric pain and bloating. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving gastric histopathology, including the potential reversal of intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia, with the ultimate goal of blocking the inflammation–carcinoma transformation sequence.
