YZJ-3058 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) developed by Shanghai Haiyan Pharmaceutical Technology, a research and development subsidiary of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group. The drug is designed to selectively target the JAK1 signaling pathway, which is a key mediator in the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines involved in the pathogenesis of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. By exhibiting high selectivity for JAK1 over other Janus kinase family members such as JAK2, JAK3, and TYK2, YZJ-3058 aims to provide therapeutic efficacy in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis while potentially reducing the risk of adverse effects such as anemia or neutropenia that are often associated with less selective JAK inhibition. As of 2024, YZJ-3058 is primarily being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis.
