Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Z009 is a self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccine candidate developed by Ziphius for the prevention of *Chlamydia trachomatis* infection. The vaccine leverages Ziphius's proprietary saRNA technology, which incorporates an alphavirus-derived replicase to enable the intracellular replication of the RNA template. This mechanism allows for sustained expression of the encoded *Chlamydia trachomatis* antigens, aiming to induce a robust and durable immune response while requiring a lower dose compared to traditional mRNA vaccines. Z009 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
