Zebtorizumab (also known as SCT401 or zetuozhumab) is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody designed to target the CD20 antigen, a protein predominantly expressed on the surface of mature B-lymphocytes. Developed by Sinocelltech, it is considered a next-generation anti-CD20 therapy or "biobetter," intended to offer enhanced efficacy and a superior safety profile compared to first-generation chimeric antibodies like rituximab. The drug exerts its therapeutic effect by binding to CD20, which triggers B-cell depletion through several immunological pathways, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). Zebtorizumab is primarily under investigation for the treatment of various B-cell malignancies, most notably diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), where it is often evaluated as part of "chemo-free" combination regimens alongside immunomodulators like lenalidomide and targeted small-molecule inhibitors.
