Zevalin-BuCyE is an intensified conditioning regimen developed for patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). It combines radioimmunotherapy using 90Y-ibritumomab tiuxetan (Zevalin) with a high-dose chemotherapy backbone of busulfan, cyclophosphamide, and etoposide (BuCyE). Zevalin targets the CD20 antigen on B-cells to deliver targeted beta radiation, while the BuCyE components provide broad-spectrum cytoreduction through DNA alkylation and topoisomerase II inhibition. This regimen, often preceded by rituximab to optimize Zevalin distribution, is primarily investigated by Asan Medical Center to improve outcomes in relapsed, refractory, or high-risk NHL patients.
