ERBB2 (HER2) is a receptor tyrosine kinase and a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family. It does not bind ligand directly but is activated through homo- or heterodimerization with other EGFR family members, leading to downstream signaling cascades that regulate cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and migration.
