Pharmacological modulation of host immune signaling pathways typically involves the inhibition or activation of specific molecular nodes, such as cytokines, cell surface receptors, or intracellular kinases, to restore immune homeostasis or enhance anti-pathogen and anti-tumor responses (O'Shea et al., 2013).
