Human Papillomavirus Type 11 L1 Major Capsid Protein (HPV-11 L1)

Target
HPV-11 L1
Molecular classification
Viral structural protein, Capsid protein
01

Overview

The Human Papillomavirus Type 11 L1 Major Capsid Protein (HPV-11 L1) is the primary structural component of the HPV-11 viral capsid. It self-assembles into virus-like particles (VLPs) when expressed recombinantly. These VLPs are highly immunogenic and are used in HPV vaccines to induce neutralizing antibodies, providing protection against HPV-11 infection and associated diseases such as genital warts. The L1 protein is not an enzyme or receptor but rather a structural antigen presented to the immune system to elicit a protective response.
