Low Affinity Immunoglobulin Gamma Fc Region Receptor II-b (CD32B)

Target
CD32B
Molecular classification
Receptor, Immunoglobulin superfamily, Type I integral membrane glycoprotein
01

Overview

CD32B (FcγRIIb) is a low-affinity receptor for the Fc region of IgG. It functions as a negative regulator of immune responses by inhibiting cell activation, proliferation, endocytosis, phagocytosis, and degranulation. It is expressed on B cells, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, platelets, and mast cells. Engagement of CD32B with immune complexes leads to phosphorylation of its ITIM motif, which recruits phosphatases to counteract activating signals. Due to its role in down-modulating immune responses, CD32B is a target for research into autoimmune diseases and therapeutic antibody design.
