Overview

Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit gamma (PI3Kγ or p110γ) is a lipid kinase belonging to the class I PI3K family. It functions as a heterodimer with regulatory subunits p101 or p87/p84, playing critical roles in immune cell signaling, cardiovascular function, and other cellular processes through PIP3 production and scaffolding functions. PI3Kγ is activated downstream of GPCRs and regulates the Akt/mTOR pathway.
