Phase 3, randomised, double-blind trial of 20-hydroxyecdysone in giardiasis (3 arms). Primary endpoint: Anti-protozoal effect of steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone at 24 months. Started Jan 2021; status: active, not recruiting.

100 mg BID for 10 days
Metronidazole
500 mg BID for 10 days

Who it enrols
Athletes aged 18-27 with confirmed Giardia lamblia infection, excluding those with other chronic/acute infections, endocrine diseases, or recent vitamin D use.
