Overview

15N2-tofacitinib is a stable isotope-labeled form of tofacitinib, in which two nitrogen atoms are replaced with the ^15N isotope. It is primarily used as an internal standard in bioanalytical assays (such as LC-MS/MS) for the quantification of tofacitinib in biological samples. Tofacitinib itself is a small molecule Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that modulates immune function by inhibiting JAK1 and JAK3, and to a lesser extent JAK2, thereby interfering with cytokine signaling involved in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The labeled version does not have therapeutic use but supports pharmacokinetic and drug metabolism studies.
