Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of alemtuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD52, and cyclophosphamide, an alkylating chemotherapeutic agent. This combination is primarily used in the treatment of hematological malignancies, particularly chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and T-cell lymphomas. The combination works through complementary mechanisms: alemtuzumab binds to CD52 on lymphocytes, causing antibody-dependent cellular cytolysis and complement-mediated lysis, while cyclophosphamide interferes with DNA replication and RNA transcription to prevent cell division.
