antithrombin + recombinant thrombomodulin

A combination therapy consisting of antithrombin and recombinant thrombomodulin. This combination leverages complementary anticoagulant mechanisms to treat sepsis-induced disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Antithrombin directly inhibits thrombin and other coagulation factors, while recombinant thrombomodulin binds to thrombin, changing its substrate specificity to activate protein C, which then inactivates factors Va and VIIIa. Together, they demonstrate synergistic effects in modulating cell death, decreasing circulating damage-associated molecular patterns, and protecting against organ damage in sepsis.
